Ardemis has the most badass skill set in this game IMO. She uses alot of dark magic to fight the enemies. Theres one skill where she summons a giant skull to devour foes. Its beast. Basil uses elemental magic like fire ice water earth and wind. I have a skill set for him but at this time the animation is pretty boring. I’ll add more flare to him later.

I recorded this with fraps. Im not sure why the screen flashes on playback but it does not occur while playing. This is a demo of a battle. I choose the default battle system and i animated the enemies.

Here is a quick look at the small to midsize enemies that are in countered in random field/dungeon battles.

I have managed to figure out how to animate the enemies properly. The process is long and boring but its worth it.

Red Divinity: Mapping

Im currently working on field maps.  As you can see Red Divinity will show you your location at all times .I will also use a simple code for real time in game. I thought it would also be cool to tint the screen in the evening. I may change the bgm and enemy encounter rate to make it more authentic. Yeah, thats what i will do , I will make the monsters stronger at night with bonus exp for every victory. well thats all for now. I gotta game to make.

Red Devinity: Common Event for Conditions

I’m currently editing the bad status conditions that effect the characters during battle and off the field. I have too many conditions and not enough slots for animated poses so I decided to create a common event that changes the effected characters faceset. So if you have no condition effecting your character your faceset should look like this….

This means your character is healthy. Now lets say you are in battle and the enemy has used an attack that creates a bad status such as poison, your faceset will change and look like this….

 

Dont worry I have a battle animation that says that your charcter has a status effect. Trust me it will grab your attention and make you look at the faceset in battle. This also works for buffs so if you use a skill that increases your attack your faceset will look like this…

I have been working on this common event for a few months now. It auto corrects itself when your buff or bad status is null. Thats all for now, im going to have a snack and working on Monsters (which are ripped from Disgaea Phantom Brave and La Pucelle.)

Red Divinity: Introduction

Hello there, This is Risto from NKE Games and I like to write short stories and music for fun. Back in Summer of ‘08 , I found a program that allows me to create my own 2D RPG game and now I have created a blog to keep give and inside look at my game(and keep me motivated). Yes, its been almost four years since I started working on this but you must understand that I’ve spent alot of time researching for resources and tutorials. I’ve also took a few writing courses and spent alot of time playing RPGs like Tales of Symphonia, Final Fantasy 10, Disgaea, and Eternal Sonata. I even spent a vast amount of time playing MMORPGs like Perfect World and Maplestory. I thought It would be best to spend time on these games to figure out how a RPG should function. After realizing that RPGMAKER 2K limited my vision for the game I decided to work with RPGMAKER 2003. For this project I am straying from using most of the default resources such as characters skills items music and monsters, so this extends the production of this game even more but I am making progress. As of Right now I have a reformatted character sprites for RPG maker and title screen I made with Photo Impact 10.

I originally wanted to use MapleStory sprites for the battle scenes but they are far too big on screen during testing and shrinking the sprites only distorted them so Im using various sprites from the Disgaea franchise as you can see.

I have also animated the battle sprites for the main characters. I will post a video of the battle animation later. That’s all I will blog for now, I’m going to tighten up some of the animation and begin working on my AI controlled characters now.
